Headshot of Tina Dean

I work creatively with young people and adults, using a variety of methods in response to what my clients bring and how they might like to work to explore what is going on for them. The aim of our work together is to find awareness of why you feel as you do and to find understanding, relief and strategies to enact initial management of what you are bringing and in the longer term, positive life changes.

If you decide to try counselling, it is important that you find the best therapist for you - someone who you feel comfortable working with. So, please do make contact to see if I could be that person.

Am I the right person to support you?

A bit about me...

I have always wanted to support others to overcome hardship in their lives, however that presents, and so have worked for over 20 years with both young people and adults.

This work has included working with clients with a variety of issues, offering my support via group work and one-to-one meetings, helping my clients to identify and reach their goals by finding awareness of, and addressing, the obstacles that hold them back.

I am an Accredited Member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and I follow it's ethical framework.

To ensure my best practice I have by-weekly clinical supervision.

I am fully insured and hold DBS checks for working with children from 11 years and adults.

I adhere to data protection requirements and our work is confidential. There can be exceptions to confidentiality in certain circumstances, which we can discuss before we commence agreement to work together.

In addition to my Private Practice Counselling Therapies I also work part-time for a company in the private sector as a Specialist Mental Health Mentor.

Sound Therapy and EFT

In addition to talking therapy, I find that some clients, particularly those with high stress and anxiety and those who find meditation and mindfulness difficult, can benefit greatly from Sound Therapy. This can offer deep relaxation, problem solving clarity, and for some clients can reduce pain. I am a qualified BAST Sound Therapist.

I am also a qualified practitioner in EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique). EFT is a treatment for anxiety, depression, phobias, PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder), pain relief, and many other issues. EFT works with clients emotional reactions to challenges in their lives. My clients find this highly effective.

I offer these therapies in their own right or as part of a counselling session.

You can read more about Sound Therapy here and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) here.
